During the 1970s, Chelsea debuted a kit honoring one of the greatest and most influential national teams ever assembled, the Magnificent Magyars. Manager Dave Sexton so admired the Hungarian side that he got his Chelsea team to play in a jersey bearing Hungary's national colors: red, white and green.

The 2025/26 Chelsea Away jersey continues that celebration of excellence with an elegant design inspired by the original, fifty years after it was worn in 1974.
